Propolis (bee resin) is a complex resinous material collected by honeybees from tree bark and buds, rich in flavonoids (pinocembrin, chrysin), phenolic esters (CAPE) and essential oils; it provides the key bacteriostatic and deodorising action in the formula. Royal champignon (Agaricus bisporus) mushroom extract provides enzymatic deodorising compounds — champignon extract contains enzymes that break down sulphur-containing volatile organic compounds (VSCs), which are the primary molecular cause of oral malodour.
