FOREST BALSAM mouthwash with oak and juniper bark extracts 250 ml by Kosmolats is a rinse for oral hygiene when you want more than a quick minty aftertaste. People usually choose this type of mouthwash to freshen the mouth after meals, reach areas a toothbrush may miss, and add an extra step to gum and tooth care.
Key components
The formula combines plant extracts with ingredients commonly used in mouth rinses for a cleaner, fresher feeling.
- Oak bark — traditionally valued in oral hygiene products for its tannins, which have an astringent effect: they help leave the tissues feeling firmer and less “puffy.”
- Juniper extract — often included for its refreshing, cleansing character.
- Aloe and chamomile — two familiar botanical ingredients chosen in cosmetics for their soothing effect, which can be useful when the mouth feels sensitive after hot food, strong flavors, or intensive brushing.
- Cetylpyridinium chloride — an antiseptic mouthwash ingredient used to reduce the build-up of unwanted bacteria in the mouth, helping keep breath fresher for longer.
- Sodium fluoride — helps strengthen enamel by making the tooth surface more resistant to acid attack from food and drinks.
In practice, the combination of cetylpyridinium chloride and sodium fluoride makes the rinse a good fit for people who want a more complete oral hygiene regimen: for example, after coffee or lunch during the workday, or in the evening after brushing.
Forest-style herbal profile
The herbal profile is broadened with additional botanicals that give FOREST BALSAM its characteristic forest-style taste and aromatic freshness:
- Yarrow
- Nettle
- St. John’s wort
- Hop
- Buckwheat leaf
- Siberian fir oil
This kind of mouthwash suits those who enjoy botanical oral care rather than very sharp menthol formulas.
Good to know
As with any active mouth rinse, it is sensible to pay attention to individual sensitivity, especially if you react easily to essential oils, flavoring components, or plant extracts. Not intended for young children, and if the mouth feels irritated after use, it is better to stop and choose a milder option.

Customer Questions
FOREST BALSAM works by combining several actions common to active oral rinses. The cetylpyridinium chloride is an antiseptic that helps reduce the growth of bacteria in the mouth, which contributes to longer-lasting freshness. The sodium fluoride strengthens tooth enamel by making it more resistant to acids from food and drinks. These active ingredients are supported by a blend of botanical extracts like oak bark, juniper, aloe, and chamomile, which provide the characteristic forest-style taste, a refreshing sensation, and a soothing effect that can be welcome if your mouth feels sensitive.
The oak bark extract is traditionally valued for its tannins, which have an astringent effect. In practice, this means it can leave the gum tissues feeling firmer and less “puffy” after use, contributing to a clean, tightened sensation. Juniper extract is included primarily for its refreshing, cleansing character, adding a distinct herbal note to the overall flavor profile. These are combined with other botanicals like yarrow, nettle, St. John’s wort, and Siberian fir oil to create the specific “forest-style” herbal taste and aromatic freshness.
