What it is
Kosmolats FOREST BALSAM toothpaste with propolis and St. John’s wort extracts is a herbal toothpaste for oral hygiene, created for people who want more than basic cleaning. It combines fluoride, cleansing mineral abrasives and a blend of plant extracts often chosen for gum-prone mouths, occasional sensitivity during brushing, or a preference for botanical ingredients in an everyday toothpaste.
How the formula works
The formula works on several levels:
- Hydrated silica helps remove soft plaque and surface buildup mechanically, polishing the teeth without the harsh feel of coarse particles.
- Sodium fluoride helps strengthen enamel by making it more resistant to acid attacks from food and bacteria.
- Propolis, a bee-derived substance long used in traditional oral products, is valued for its protective and soothing properties.
- St. John’s wort extract is included alongside chamomile, yarrow, nettle, hops, buckwheat and aloe, which are commonly used in mouth care products aimed at keeping gums feeling calmer and fresher.
Who it suits
What makes this toothpaste interesting is its herbal infusion-style composition: instead of relying only on minty freshness, it combines cooling agents such as menthol and menthyl lactate with a broad botanical complex. This gives a clean-mouth effect while also making the paste suitable for those who like classic herbal toothpastes rather than very sweet or strongly whitening formulas. It can fit well into a morning and evening brushing habit, especially if you want fluoride protection together with plant-based ingredients.
Important notes
- Because it contains propolis and essential-oil components, it may not suit people sensitive to bee products or fragrant extracts.
- It contains fluoride and is not intended for children under 14.
- If your mouth reacts easily to active oral hygiene formulas, introduce it gently and stop use if irritation appears.

Customer Questions
FOREST BALSAM toothpaste is formulated with an herbal infusion-style composition, which sets it apart from standard toothpastes that rely heavily on minty or sweet flavors for a fresh feeling. Instead of a single strong note, it blends cooling agents like menthol and menthyl lactate with a broad botanical complex that includes St. John’s wort extract, chamomile, yarrow, nettle, hops, buckwheat, and aloe. This provides a clean-mouth effect through a more layered and botanical sensation rather than just a sharp minty blast. If you prefer classic herbal toothpastes over very sweet or strongly whitening formulas, or if you find typical mint flavors too intense, this combination offers a distinct, fresher alternative that fits well into a morning and evening brushing habit.
This toothpaste is created with ingredients often chosen for gum-prone mouths or occasional sensitivity during brushing. Its blend includes propolis, valued in traditional oral products for its protective and soothing properties, alongside several botanical extracts like St. John’s wort, chamomile, yarrow, nettle, hops, buckwheat, and aloe, which are commonly used in mouth care products aimed at keeping gums feeling calmer and fresher. The mechanical cleaning action comes from hydrated silica, which helps remove plaque while polishing teeth without the harsh feel of coarse particles. However, it's important to note that because it contains propolis and essential-oil components, it may not suit people sensitive to bee products or fragrant extracts. If your mouth reacts easily to active formulas, introduce it gently by using a small amount and observing your gums' response. Discontinue use if any irritation appears. It's not intended to diagnose, treat, or prevent any disease, and consulting a dental specialist is advised for persistent gum concerns.
Sodium fluoride is included in the formula to help strengthen tooth enamel by making it more resistant to acid attacks from food and bacteria, which is a common and beneficial feature in many daily-use toothpastes for cavity protection. This makes the paste suitable for those who want fluoride protection together with plant-based ingredients in their routine. There are two important restrictions to note. First, the product is not intended for children under 14. Second, as it contains propolis, a bee-derived substance, individuals with known allergies or sensitivities to bee products should avoid it. Always check the full ingredient list if you have other specific allergies. The toothpaste is a cosmetic for oral hygiene and is not a substitute for professional dental care or a balanced diet.
