Massage Ball with 8 cm Diameter
- For Relaxing Massages
- May Relieve Tension
Description: The massage ball is an excellent tool for massaging various trigger points and relieving tension. It is especially effective for massaging the plantar (bottom of the foot), glutes, back, and calves. It is also great for massaging shoulder muscles by placing the ball between the wall and the shoulder muscle.
Manufacturer: "Stolz GmbH", Germany
Importer: VITATEKA OÜ, Mõisa tee 5, Kostivere, Jõelähtme Parish, Harju County, Estonia 74204
What the product is
Stolz GmbH Massage Ball 8 cm is a simple self‑massage accessory for people who want to loosen tight areas after long hours of sitting, standing, training, or travel. This type of massage ball is commonly used on trigger points — small, overly tense spots in the muscles that can feel sore, stiff, or sensitive to pressure. The 8 cm size is practical because it is compact enough to target specific areas, yet still easy to control with the hand, on the floor, or against a wall.
How it works
The ball works through focused pressure. When you slowly roll it over a tense area, it helps the muscle relax and encourages local blood flow. Many people use this kind of massage tool on the soles of the feet, calves, glutes, upper back, and around the shoulders. For example, rolling the foot over the ball can feel especially pleasant after a long day on your feet, while placing it between the wall and the shoulder blade area can help release stiffness caused by desk work or static posture.
- Soles of the feet, Calves, Glutes, Upper back, Shoulders
Typical uses
Compared with broader massage rollers, a massage ball reaches smaller zones more precisely. That makes it useful when you want to work on one spot at a time rather than the whole muscle group at once. It can fit well into a post‑exercise recovery plan, a short movement break during office hours, or an evening wind‑down session at home. Pressure can easily be adjusted by using more or less body weight, so both beginners and physically active users can adapt it to their own needs.

Safety notes
Use the Stolz GmbH massage ball gently at first, especially on very tight or sensitive areas. Avoid rolling directly over joints, bones, or irritated skin. If you have a recent injury, severe pain, circulation problems, or are unsure whether self‑massage is suitable for you, it is sensible to ask a healthcare professional before use.

Customer Questions
The Stolz GmbH massage ball is designed to target specific areas like the shoulders and upper back, which often get tight from long periods of sitting or desk work. A common method is to stand with your back against a wall, place the ball between the wall and the tense area (like around your shoulder blade), and then slowly shift your weight to apply pressure. You can then make small, controlled movements—like gently rocking side-to-side or in small circles—to help the muscle relax. This focused pressure can encourage local blood flow. Remember to start gently, especially if the area feels very sensitive; you can always increase the pressure by leaning more into the wall. Avoid rolling directly over the spine or bony prominences, and stop if you feel sharp pain.
The key difference is the size and area you want to address. The 8 cm massage ball is compact and ideal for reaching smaller, specific zones—often called trigger points—that feel particularly sore or stiff, like a tight spot in your glutes, calf, or around your shoulder blade. Because you can control it with your hand, against the floor, or on a wall, you can apply very focused pressure exactly where you need it. In contrast, a larger foam roller is better suited for broader muscle groups (like the entire thigh or back) and longer, gliding movements. Many people find the ball complements a roller; for example, you might use the roller on your quads after a run and then use the ball to work on a specific tight spot in your foot or hip. This ball fits into a routine as a more precise tool for isolated areas.
Yes, the soles of the feet are one of the typical use areas mentioned for this type of massage ball. To use it, place the ball on a firm floor, stand barefoot or in socks, and gently roll the arch of your foot over it. You can control the pressure by shifting more or less of your body weight onto that foot. Start with slow, short rolls back and forth, and if you find a particularly tender spot, you can pause and apply gentle, sustained pressure for 20-30 seconds before moving on. This can feel especially relieving after a day spent on your feet or wearing shoes, as it helps relax the plantar fascia and muscles. For safety and comfort, avoid rolling over the heel bone or toes directly, and always listen to your body—if any movement causes sharp pain, ease off.
