FARMGRUPP Greater Plantain Leaves consist of dried leaves of the greater plantain (Plantago major L.), a perennial herbaceous plant in the plantain family (Plantaginaceae) that is one of the most widely distributed "weed" plants on Earth, growing across all temperate and subtropical regions. Greater plantain has been used in European herbal tradition for well over a millennium: it is one of the nine sacred herbs of Anglo-Saxon medicine and features in traditional phytotherapeutic practice across virtually every European culture.
The dried leaves contain a range of bioactive phytochemicals including aucubin (an iridoid glycoside), acteoside (a phenylethanoid glycoside, also known as verbascoside), the mucilaginous polysaccharides plantasan and plantaglucide, flavonoids, chlorogenic acid, tannins, and vitamins A and C. The herb brews to a mildly bitter, greenish-tinted tea with a subtle, slightly mucilaginous character from its polysaccharide content. The 50 g pack provides a supply for home herbal preparation.

PREPARATION (herbal infusion): Add 1 teaspoon (approx. 2 g) of dried plantain leaves to a cup. Pour over 200 ml of hot water; steep over a water bath for 15 minutes. Strain thoroughly. Adults: 1/2 cup (approx. 100 ml) of the prepared infusion twice daily during meals, for up to 1 month or as directed.
STORAGE: Store in a cool, dry place in a sealed container, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Store prepared infusion in the refrigerator.
