How do I use this soap for hand-washing clothes and pre-treating stains?

For hand-washing small garments, wet the fabric and rub the soap bar directly onto the area you want to clean, or create a lather in your hands first and then work it into the material. For heavily soiled items, you can dissolve the bar in warm water (about 1 cup of grated soap in 1 liter of water) to create a soaking solution. Work the suds gently through the fabric, paying attention to collars, cuffs and underarms where oils accumulate.

To pre-treat stubborn spots, dampen the stained area and apply the soap directly by rubbing the bar onto the mark or using a concentrated solution. Let it sit for a few minutes before proceeding with your regular wash cycle. This soap works well on organic stains like food or sweat because the sodium cocoate component provides good foaming and grease-lifting power. Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue, especially in warm weather to prevent any remaining oils from setting.
