Its purpose is to more effectively loosen the bonds between dead skin cells, leading to a more noticeable improvement in skin texture and brightness after use. Because of its higher potency, it is not meant for daily application and requires more cautious introduction, especially for those new to acids.
During application, it is normal to feel a mild tingling or warming sensation, which typically subsides after a minute or two. This is due to the glycolic acid working on the skin's surface. After rinsing, your skin may feel smoother and look brighter, but it might also feel slightly tight or dry, which is why following with a hydrating cream is recommended.
