FARMGRUPP Hawthorn Berries Herbal Tea consists of dried whole fruits (haws) of hawthorn (Crataegus L.) — a flowering shrub or small tree in the rose family (Rosaceae) widely distributed across temperate regions of Europe and Asia, where it has been used in traditional phytotherapy for centuries. Hawthorn berries are among the most phytochemically complex and analytically well-characterised of all traditional European herbal raw materials. The dried fruits are characteristically apple-shaped to ellipsoidal in form, hard, wrinkled, 6–14 mm in length, with 1–5 hard endocarp stones inside the mealy flesh. Their colour ranges from yellow-orange and brownish-red to dark-brown or black, sometimes with a whitish crystallised sugar bloom on the surface.
The berry flesh is particularly rich in flavonoids (quercetin, hyperin, hyperoside, and vitexin), organic acids (citric, oleanolic, ursolic, crataegolic/crataegoic, caffeic, and chlorogenic acids), carotenoids, tannins, fatty oils, pectins, triterpene and flavone glycosides, beta-sitosterol, choline, natural sugars, and vitamins. This exceptionally broad phytochemical spectrum accounts for hawthorn's long and well-documented history in European and Russian herbal tradition. The dried berries brew a characteristically sweet, mildly tart, warm-toned infusion with a pleasant fruity-herbal flavour. The 100 g pack provides a generous supply for extended home use.

FARMGRUPP Viirpuumarjad fütotee 100 g is a herbal tea made from whole dried hawthorn berries. People usually choose hawthorn when they want a traditional plant-based infusion with a mild fruity taste and a long history of use in European herbal practice. Unlike strongly aromatic herbs, hawthorn berries brew into a soft, sweet-tart drink that fits well in calmer periods, especially when you prefer a simple single-herb tea rather than a multi-ingredient blend.
What makes hawthorn interesting is its broad natural composition. The berries contain flavonoids such as quercetin, hyperoside and vitexin, along with carotenoids, tannins, pectins and several organic acids, including chlorogenic acid. In plain language, these plant compounds are valued because they interact with the body as antioxidants and help protect cells from oxidative stress caused by normal metabolism and external factors. Tannins give the infusion its slightly astringent note, while pectins and fruit acids contribute to the rounded, pleasant taste profile of the tea.
Hawthorn has been used for centuries in traditional European phytotherapy, and the berry form is especially appreciated by people who enjoy slower, warming herbal preparations. Whole fruits are less processed than extracts or capsules, so the tea offers a more traditional experience: a brewed infusion made from the plant material itself. This can suit those who like to include herbal teas in a quiet evening habit, during seasonal changes, or as an alternative to standard black tea when looking for a naturally caffeine-free option.
This Farm Group herbal tea is best seen as a classic herbal product for adults who appreciate traditional botanicals and uncomplicated composition. Because hawthorn is an active herb with a long-standing relationship to cardiovascular herbal use, it is sensible to be cautious with regular intake if you use heart-related medication, or if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning long-term use. If that applies to you, ask a healthcare professional whether this herbal infusion is appropriate.
