FARMGRUPP Hawthorn Berries Herbal Tea consists of dried whole fruits (haws) of hawthorn (Crataegus L.) — a flowering shrub or small tree in the rose family (Rosaceae) widely distributed across temperate regions of Europe and Asia, where it has been used in traditional phytotherapy for centuries. Hawthorn berries are among the most phytochemically complex and analytically well-characterised of all traditional European herbal raw materials. The dried fruits are characteristically apple-shaped to ellipsoidal in form, hard, wrinkled, 6–14 mm in length, with 1–5 hard endocarp stones inside the mealy flesh. Their colour ranges from yellow-orange and brownish-red to dark-brown or black, sometimes with a whitish crystallised sugar bloom on the surface.
The berry flesh is particularly rich in flavonoids (quercetin, hyperin, hyperoside, and vitexin), organic acids (citric, oleanolic, ursolic, crataegolic/crataegoic, caffeic, and chlorogenic acids), carotenoids, tannins, fatty oils, pectins, triterpene and flavone glycosides, beta-sitosterol, choline, natural sugars, and vitamins. This exceptionally broad phytochemical spectrum accounts for hawthorn's long and well-documented history in European and Russian herbal tradition. The dried berries brew a characteristically sweet, mildly tart, warm-toned infusion with a pleasant fruity-herbal flavour. The 100 g pack provides a generous supply for extended home use.

PREPARATION (herbal infusion): Place approx. 15 g (1 tablespoon) of hawthorn berries in an enamel or ceramic vessel. Add 200 ml of hot freshly boiled water. Cover and steep in a hot water bath for 30 minutes. Cool at room temperature for 10 minutes. Strain well and press remaining pulp. Adjust the infusion volume to 200 ml with boiled water. Shake gently before serving. Adults: ½ cup (approx. 100 ml) 2–3 times daily, 30 minutes before meals.
