Crevil Essential Calendula Body Cream is a hypoallergenic cosmetic body care cream from the German Crevil Cosmetics & Pharmaceuticals range, formulated with calendula extract (Calendula officinalis) and petroleum jelly (petrolatum) as the key skin-conditioning and protective active components. Calendula (Calendula officinalis) flowers contain a rich complex of flavonoids (quercetin, isorhamnetin), triterpenoids (oleanolic acid, calendulosides), carotenoids (beta-carotene, lutein, zeaxanthin, lycopene), polysaccharides and essential oil components (alpha-cadinol, alpha-thujene, p-cymene). The combined flavonoid and triterpenoid matrix provides the characteristic skin-soothing and conditioning properties of calendula that have been known in botanical skin care for centuries. Petroleum jelly (petrolatum, Paraffinum Liquidum, Petrolatum) provides an occlusive, barrier-forming emollient layer on the skin surface — it is among the most efficient skin barrier-restoring agents, forming a hydrophobic film that significantly reduces transepidermal water loss.
