Green tea provides polyphenol catechins (EGCG) and a light astringency. Marigold and chamomile provide soothing flavonoids and conditioning properties. Arnica extract provides sesquiterpene lactones (helenalin) that contribute the characteristic skin-conditioning feel in topical cosmetics. Menthol provides the characteristic fresh, cool, invigorating sensation that makes the product well-suited for use as a pre-shave and shave-assist soap, reducing skin irritation during the mechanical shaving process.
