Start by washing the area with warm water or shaving right after a shower — heat and moisture soften the stubble significantly. Apply a generous amount of cream to damp (not just moist) skin and work it into a thick, even lather using circular motions; this ensures the foam coats every hair and creates a consistent buffer layer. Let the lather sit for 30–60 seconds before the first pass so the stubble absorbs moisture and becomes easier to cut. Use a sharp, clean blade and shave with short, gentle strokes — let the weight of the razor do the work without pressing down. Rinse the blade often to prevent clogging, which can cause dragging. After shaving, rinse skin with cold water to close pores, pat dry (don't rub), and apply a fragrance-free aftershave balm or face cream while the skin is still slightly damp to lock in hydration. If you shave daily, consider alternating shaving direction (with the grain one day, across the grain the next) to reduce cumulative irritation.
The cream's function — creating a foam buffer that hydrates stubble and reduces blade friction — is not face-specific. On the neck, where skin is thinner and hair often grows in multiple directions, spend extra time building lather and shave with very light pressure, frequently rinsing the blade.
