Ichthyol ointment (Ichthammol 4%) is intended for the care of problem skin prone to redness and localized infections. Ichthyol (ammonium bituminous sulfonate) has pronounced antiseptic and keratoplastic properties. It helps reduce pain and accelerate the maturation and cleansing of skin lesions (e.g., acne or furuncles).
