Camphor (dl-camphor) is a bicyclic monoterpenoid ketone derived from the camphor laurel (Cinnamomum camphora); topically applied camphor produces a warming-then-cooling counter-irritant sensation through activation of TRPV3 (warm) and TRPM8 (cold) receptors. The combined menthol–camphor formula delivers an immediate, intense and pleasant cooling and refreshing sensation on the legs — particularly effective after prolonged standing, walking or physical exercise.
