Excess moisture on the skin can leave feet feeling damp and can also make it easier for odour to appear. This Fitodoktor foot cream is designed to help keep the skin drier and fresher.

The main idea behind the formula is the use of plant-based extracts with an astringent and toning effect:
- Oak bark extract — contains tannins, plant compounds with an astringent effect that help tighten the upper layer of the skin and reduce the feeling of wetness.

Wash your feet and dry them thoroughly, especially between the toes. Take a small amount of cream and spread it evenly over the soles, heels, and between the toes — these are the areas where moisture tends to accumulate most. Let the cream absorb for a minute or two before putting on socks or shoes; this helps the astringent ingredients from oak bark extract form a light, dry-touch film on the skin surface. Using it daily, preferably in the morning before a long day in closed footwear, gives more consistent results than applying a thick layer once in a while. A 44 g tube typically lasts one to two months with daily use on both feet.
The formula relies on oak bark extract (rich in tannins) and birch bark extract for their astringent and toning effects. Tannins tighten the upper skin layer, which reduces the sensation of wetness, but this same action can cause a slight stinging or tightening feeling on skin that is already irritated, cracked, or very thin. If you know your skin reacts strongly to witch hazel, alcohol-based toners, or other astringent products, test a pea-sized amount on the inner forearm or a small patch on the foot and wait 24 hours before full application.
Foot odor usually develops when bacteria break down sweat on the skin surface, and those bacteria multiply faster in a warm, damp environment. The oak bark extract in this cream helps tighten the skin and reduce the feeling of wetness, while the birch bark extract adds a refreshing sensation. By keeping the skin drier, the cream makes conditions less favorable for odor-causing microbes, but it does not contain antibacterial agents, fragrances that mask smell, or active deodorant ingredients like zinc ricinoleate or aluminum salts.
Because this is a light cream with a dry-touch finish, it layers well under or over most other foot products. A practical order after washing and drying: first apply any prescribed or pharmacy treatment (antifungal cream, wart treatment, etc.) and let it absorb fully; then apply the Fitodoktor cream for moisture management and comfort; finally, if you use a foot powder for extra dryness, dust it on once the cream has set. If you like a richer balm for very rough heels at night, you can apply the balm over this cream or use the balm on alternate evenings.
