Chlorophyll is a green pigment found in plant sap. In plant cells, chlorophyll plays a role in respiration and energy production. When consumed by humans, chlorophyll exhibits similar properties:

• It interacts with the surface of the gastrointestinal tract cells. This neutralizes the destruction of cell membranes by toxic substances, carcinogens, ultraviolet light, or radiation, protecting the genetic material inside the cell (DNA) from damage.
• It triggers the death of pathologically altered cells, activates the immune response, disrupts the vitality of pathogenic bacterial, viral, fungal, protozoan, and helminth cells, aiding in their elimination from the body.

By activating the liver cytochromes system (enzymes responsible for eliminating foreign substances from the body), chlorophyll contributes to the liver's detoxification function—eliminating potentially harmful toxins from the body.
