Does VITATEKA liquid chlorophyll have a taste and colour, and will it affect the drinks it is added to?

Sodium chlorophyllin gives a pronounced dark green colour — this is what makes water with the supplement instantly recognisable. The intensity of the shade depends on the amount of product and the volume of liquid: in a large glass of water the colour will be softer, in a smaller one more intense.

The taste of liquid chlorophyll is usually neutral or slightly herbal — without the harshness that powdered superfoods sometimes have. That is why there is no need to mask it with fruit or blend it into a smoothie: it works well in plain water.

If you add chlorophyll to acidic drinks — for example, citrus juice or water with lemon — the colour may shift slightly towards an olive or brownish shade. This is a chemical reaction of chlorophyllin to acid; it does not mean the product has gone off, but it is worth bearing in mind when choosing a base for your drink.

The green pigment may temporarily stain the tongue and gums straight after consumption — this is normal and goes away after rinsing your mouth with water.
