Brewer's yeast and baker's yeast are different products with different purposes. Baker's yeast contains live cells of Saccharomyces cerevisiae, which actively multiply and cause fermentation — this is exactly what is needed to raise dough. OstroVit brewer's yeast tablets are inactivated: the cells are dried and not viable, so they cause no fermentation in the body.
Brewer's yeast is one of the few products in which B vitamins, amino acids and mineral substances are present within the whole yeast cell rather than as synthetic isolates. This makes it an interesting option for those who prefer natural sources of nutrients.
Brewer's yeast is produced from Saccharomyces cerevisiae — the same yeast species used in baking and brewing. If you have a documented sensitivity or allergy to yeast products, taking this supplement without consulting a doctor is not advisable.
