Bio National Basil Herbal Tea is a caffeine-free aromatic herbal blend from the GrinLab/Bio National range, built around common basil (Ocimum basilicum) leaf as the centrepiece botanical, complemented by a complex of six wild-harvested and cultivated herbs: common goldenrod (Solidago virgaurea), common agrimony (Agrimonia eupatoria), bupleurum (Bupleurum spp., "kuldhärg"), narrow-leaved fireweed (Ivan chai, Chamerion angustifolium) leaf, and cardamom fruit. Basil (Ocimum basilicum) is one of the most ancient aromatic herbs of the Caucasus and Central Asia, prized across culinary and herbal traditions from Southeast Asia to the Mediterranean, and is richest in the essential oil compounds linalool, eugenol, methylchavicol (estragole) and camphor that provide its distinctive warm, spicy-herbaceous flavour. Common goldenrod adds a dry-floral-spicy note; agrimony contributes a mild, astringent herbal note; bupleurum adds earthy depth; Ivan chai provides a malty backbone (fermented); cardamom adds bright spice. The result is a spicy, herbal and aromatic caffeine-free blend. N25 filter bags × 1.7 g.

Bio National Basil Herbal Tea is a caffeine-free herbal tea for people who want a warm, spicy cup without the stimulating effect of coffee or classic black tea. The blend is built around basil leaf, which gives the infusion its characteristic aromatic, slightly peppery and herbaceous profile. It is a good fit for slow mornings, quiet evenings, or any moment when you want a more expressive herbal drink than plain mint or chamomile.
What makes this tea interesting is the layered combination of botanicals. Basil contains naturally occurring aromatic compounds such as linalool, eugenol and camphor, which shape its recognizable scent and gently warming taste. Cardamom adds a brighter, more lifted spice note. Fermented Ivan chai, also known as fireweed, brings a softer, malty base that rounds out the sharper herbal tones. Goldenrod, agrimony and bupleurum add dry, earthy and slightly floral nuances, so the cup tastes more complex than a single-herb infusion.
Basil has a long history in culinary and herbal traditions from the Mediterranean to Central Asia, where it has been valued mainly for its fragrance and rich flavour. In this BioNational herbal blend, it is used not as a sweet dessert-style tea, but as a more savoury, aromatic drink with depth. That makes it especially suitable for people who enjoy spiced herbal infusions, want a caffeine-free hot drink later in the day, or like to alternate between classic tea and botanical blends.
This product works best as part of a calm drinking ritual: during a work break, with food, or in the evening when you want something warming but not heavy. Because the flavour is fairly characterful, it can also suit those who find very delicate herbal teas too mild.
Although this is simply a herbal beverage, blends with several plants may not suit everyone equally. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, highly sensitive to herbs and spices, or using medication regularly, it is sensible to check whether this type of botanical tea is appropriate for you.
