Retinol (vitamin A alcohol) is the most extensively studied anti-ageing cosmetic active; at cosmetic-grade concentrations, it supports the normal cell turnover rate of the epidermis, contributes to a smoother skin surface texture, and promotes the skin's natural structural protein expression. Marine collagen provides direct peptide conditioning for the skin surface and contributes to the skin's hydration and firmness. Hyaluronic acid is a glycosaminoglycan with exceptional water-binding capacity — it can retain up to 1,000 times its own weight in water — providing high-intensity, long-lasting hydration at the epidermal and upper dermal level.
