The ŠUNGIIT shungite mat is a large 58 × 85 cm sheet weighing about 2.5 kg, filled with small pieces of natural shungite — a rare carbon-rich mineral mined mainly in the Karelia region of north-western Russia. It is designed as a flexible accessory for the home, easy to roll out on a chair, sofa, bed, floor or even on a yoga mat during stretching and meditation.
Shungite is interesting because of its unusual structure: it contains fullerenes, spherical carbon molecules that have attracted scientific attention since the 1990s.
