Unifarma Herbals Shallaki Capsules provide an extract of Boswellia serrata resin — the gum resin obtained by tapping the trunk of the Indian frankincense tree (Boswellia serrata Roxb.), which grows in the mountainous regions of India, the Middle East and northern Africa. Boswellia serrata resin has been an integral part of the Ayurvedic medical system for over three thousand years, where it is known as "Shallaki" in Sanskrit. The resin contains a unique class of triterpenoid acids collectively known as Boswellic acids (BA), the most pharmacologically studied being the acetyl-11-keto-β-boswellic acid (AKBA), 11-keto-β-boswellic acid (KBA), β-boswellic acid and α-boswellic acid. Boswellic acids are specific 5-lipoxygenase inhibitors in vitro. The Unifarma Herbals Shallaki formula provides Boswellia serrata gum resin extract in an easy-to-swallow capsule, standardised for boswellic acid content. N60 capsules per pack.
