USAGE: For oral consumption: heat water to 90–95 °C. Add 1 teaspoon (4 g) of baking soda to a glass, then pour 130 ml of hot water over it. Stir vigorously for 1 minute. Add cold water to the rim of the glass, continuing to stir. Leave to stand 2–3 minutes. When sufficiently cooled, drink the full solution in a few sips, on an empty stomach — preferably in the morning. For mouth rinsing and gargling: dissolve in warm water and use as needed.

NIKSEN baking soda is taken only in dissolved form: the powder is stirred into hot water (90–95 °C) until fully dissolved, then cold water is added and the solution is drunk once it has cooled. Do not take the undissolved powder, as this may irritate the mucous membranes.
Baking soda (sodium bicarbonate, NaHCO₃) and table salt (sodium chloride, NaCl) are chemically different substances with different properties. On contact with an acid, baking soda undergoes a neutralisation reaction and releases carbon dioxide, whereas salt does not react in this way. That is why their uses and effects differ.
