Since VITATEKA Sinepipulber is pure mustard powder, you can use it to create your own mustard condiment. Start by mixing the powder with cool water (not hot, as heat can deactivate the pungent compounds) in a non-reactive bowl to form a paste. The typical ratio is about 1 part powder to 1.5-2 parts water, but you can adjust for thickness. To mellow the sharpness and preserve the mustard, stir in an acid like vinegar, lemon juice, or white wine. Cover the mixture and let it rest at room temperature for at least 15-30 minutes; this allows the enzymatic reaction that creates the characteristic heat and flavor to complete. For a smoother texture, you can blend it after resting. Homemade mustard will continue to develop flavor in the refrigerator for a few days and can be customized with honey, herbs, or spices.
