Mirrolla Melissa Essential Oil 10 ml is a concentrated aromatic oil obtained from the leaves of lemon balm (Melissa officinalis), a fragrant herb from the mint family that has been valued in European herbal tradition since at least the Middle Ages. The plant earned its Latin name from the Greek word for "honey bee" — its delicate lemon scent has always attracted bees, and the same gentle citrus aroma is what makes the essential oil so recognisable.
True melissa oil is one of the more demanding oils to produce: a large amount of fresh leaves yields only a small quantity of oil, which is why it is often blended or stretched with lemon and citronella notes in commercial products. The Mirrolla version is intended primarily for aromatherapy and home fragrance use, where even a small bottle lasts a long time because only a few drops are needed at a time.
How the aroma works. The scent of melissa is built mainly on terpene aldehydes such as citral (a mix of geranial and neral), along with citronellal, geraniol and traces of caryophyllene. When you inhale these volatile molecules, they reach the olfactory receptors in the nose and send signals to the limbic system — the part of the brain linked to emotions and the perception of calm. This is the mechanism behind the long-standing reputation of lemon balm as a soothing, mood-lifting herb. The fresh, slightly sweet citrus-herbal note is generally perceived as relaxing in the evening and gently uplifting in the morning.
Typical ways people use it:
Please keep in mind. Essential oils are highly concentrated plant extracts and are not intended for internal use. Never apply melissa oil neat on the skin — always dilute it in a carrier oil and do a small patch test first, as citral-rich oils can cause sensitisation. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes, keep out of reach of children, and consult a specialist before use during pregnancy, breastfeeding, or if you have epilepsy, allergies or a chronic condition. This product is a cosmetic-aromatic oil, not a medicine, and does not replace professional medical advice.
