Mirrolla Melissa Essential Oil is a potent extract derived from lemon balm leaves, rich in terpene aldehydes like citral. Because of this high concentration, it is strictly not intended for internal use and must never be applied directly to the skin in its pure form. Undiluted application can lead to skin irritation or sensitization, particularly given the citral content.
To use it safely in massage blends or topical applications, you must dilute the oil in a neutral carrier oil such as jojoba, sweet almond, or fractionated coconut oil. A typical starting ratio is 1-2 drops of essential oil per teaspoon (approx. 5ml) of carrier oil for general body massage. For facial use, a lower concentration is advisable.
Before applying any new blend to a larger area, perform a patch test. Apply a small amount of the diluted mixture to the inner forearm and wait 24 hours to check for any adverse reactions. If you have sensitive skin, known allergies, or are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have epilepsy, consult a medical specialist before use. This product is a cosmetic-aromatic oil and does not replace professional medical advice.
