Customer Questions
What minerals does Pelisterka Light Carbonated Water contain and how do they influence its taste?
Pelisterka Light Carbonated Water contains a modest blend of minerals that arise naturally from its source in the Pelister area near Bitola. Bicarbonates are the most noticeable for taste; they give the water a smooth, slightly rounded sensation that many describe as soft rather than sharp. Calcium and magnesium are also present, typical of spring‑water profiles, and they add to the overall mineral balance without imparting a distinct flavour of their own. Sodium and potassium appear in smaller amounts, contributing subtle background notes that keep the water from tasting flat or overly bland. The light sparkle comes from dissolved carbon dioxide, which creates a gentle fizz that lifts the freshness of the drink while keeping the carbonation level mild enough to avoid a harsh bite. Because the minerals are present in moderate concentrations, the water does not taste salty, metallic, or excessively hard, and the carbonation is described as “light,” meaning the CO2 pressure is lower than in strongly sparkling sodas. This combination results in a crisp yet gentle mouthfeel that pairs well with food, serves as a refreshing alternative to sweetened beverages, and can be enjoyed chilled straight from the bottle or poured into a glass.
How should I store and serve Pelisterka to keep its light carbonation fresh and enjoyable?
To maintain the light carbonation and fresh taste of Pelisterka, store the unopened bottles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources; a pantry or cupboard at room temperature is fine, but a cooler environment (such as a refrigerator) helps preserve the CO2 longer. Keep the bottles upright to prevent the seal from being compromised and to minimise any potential leakage. Before serving, chill the water in the refrigerator for at least an hour if you prefer it cold; serving it too warm can cause the carbonation to escape more quickly once opened. Open the bottle just before you intend to drink it, and pour the water into a glass or drink it directly from the bottle to limit exposure to air. If you cannot finish the bottle in one sitting, reseal it tightly with the original cap or a suitable stopper and return it to the refrigerator promptly; aim to consume the remaining water within one to two days to enjoy the intended level of fizz. Avoid shaking the bottle vigorously after opening, as this accelerates gas loss. Following these steps will help you retain the gentle sparkle and balanced mineral taste that Pelisterka is known for.

What it is

Pelisterka Light Carbonated Water 0.5 L is a lightly sparkling mineral water with a soft, balanced taste. People usually choose this kind of water when they want simple hydration with a naturally occurring mineral profile rather than plain still water or sweet drinks. The gentle carbonation gives it a fresher mouthfeel, so it fits well with meals, on the go, or as a refreshing option during the day.

Mineral composition

What makes Pelisterka interesting is its mineral composition. It contains these minerals in moderate amounts:

  • Bicarbonates — contribute to the water's smooth taste.
  • Calcium and magnesium — often valued in mineral waters because they are involved in muscle and nerve function.
  • Sodium and potassium — part of the water's natural mineral profile.

In plain language, these are the minerals that help give natural mineral water its character. The light sparkle comes from dissolved carbon dioxide, which creates a crisp sensation without making the water feel too sharp.

Origin

This water comes from the Pelister area near Bitola in North Macedonia, from a high-altitude source. For many people, origin matters with mineral water: the local geology shapes the mineral content and taste profile over time. That is why naturally mineralised sparkling water often tastes more rounded than standard table water with added gas.

How to enjoy it

Pelisterka mineral water is a practical choice for those who enjoy mildly carbonated drinks but want something unsweetened. It can be:

  • served chilled;
  • paired with food;
  • used as a lighter alternative to soft drinks.

If you are sensitive to carbonated beverages or follow a plan that limits certain minerals such as sodium, it is worth checking the composition and choosing the amount that suits you.
