To get the most out of this toothpaste, use it as part of a complete oral care routine. Start with a soft toothbrush — a medium or hard brush can irritate your gums and damage enamel. Apply a pea-sized amount of toothpaste and brush your teeth in small circular motions, covering all surfaces: the front, back, and chewing areas. Aim to brush for about two minutes, twice a day — once in the morning and once in the evening.
Brushing alone does not reach the spaces between your teeth. To clean those areas, use dental floss or interdental brushes once a day. This removes plaque and food particles that a toothbrush cannot reach, and it supports the cavity-protection work of the fluoride.
After brushing, spit out the toothpaste but do not rinse your mouth immediately with water. Rinsing washes away the fluoride before it can act on your enamel. If you want to rinse, wait a few minutes or use a fluoride-based mouthwash. Also, avoid eating or drinking for at least 30 minutes after brushing to let the fluoride stay on your teeth.
Replace your toothbrush every three months, or sooner if the bristles become worn. A worn brush does not clean effectively and can harbour bacteria. If you have braces, you may need to use special cleaning tools and follow your orthodontist's instructions.
