Use the scrub before shaving, not after. Shaving already removes surface cells and leaves the skin more exposed, so scrubbing immediately after a shave can feel stingy and irritating. This is also why the product is not recommended on freshly shaved skin.
A comfortable sequence is to exfoliate first on clean, damp skin, rinse well, and then shave. Exfoliating before shaving lifts away dead cells from the surface, so the razor glides over a smoother area and the result can feel closer, but keep the pressure light. If you prefer to shave first, wait at least a day before using the scrub, and only if the skin is not red, sore or broken.
Even if you use the scrub before shaving, you still need a shaving cream, foam or gel with slip — a scrub is not a substitute for one. Use the product only on your body, avoid the eye area, and pay extra attention to sensitive spots like the bikini line or underarms; if the skin turns red, give it more time between the two steps.
