Hutorok Forest Berry Kissel Powder 30g is an instant kissel drink powder with forest berry flavour and vitamin C. Kissel (also spelled kisel) is a traditional hot starch-based fruit drink popular throughout Estonia, Latvia, Russia and other Northern and Eastern European countries — traditionally a sweet, thickened fruit drink made from berries, fruits or juice with potato starch, served hot. Hutorok's instant kissel powder dissolves quickly in boiling water to make a homemade kissel drink within minutes. The formula contains sugars, potato starch, citric acid (E330) as an acidity regulator, forest berry flavouring, vitamin C (ascorbic acid) and carmine (E120) as a natural red colourant. Nutritional values per 100 g: Vitamin C 100 mg; Carbohydrates 92 g; Energy 368 kcal / 1564 kJ. Single-serve 30 g sachet. Note: the amount of water used determines the thickness of the drink.

What is HUTOROK Kissellipulber metsamarjadega
HUTOROK Kissellipulber metsamarjadega 30 g is an instant forest berry kissel powder — a traditional starch-based fruit drink that becomes warm, smooth and slightly thick after mixing with boiling water. People usually choose kissel when they want something softer and more satisfying than tea, but lighter than a dessert. It works well as a quick warm drink at home, in the office, or on a cold day when plain juice feels too sharp and water feels too plain.
Key Components
The texture comes from potato starch. When hot water is added, the starch absorbs liquid and swells, giving the drink its classic kissel consistency. This is what makes it different from ordinary berry drinks: it is not just flavored water, but a fuller, more enveloping hot beverage. The formula also contains:
- Citric acid – gives a brighter fruit note
- Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) – adds nutritional value alongside the sweet-tart berry taste
Traditional Background and Preparation
Kissel, also known as kisel, has a long culinary tradition across Estonia and other parts of Northern and Eastern Europe. It has often been enjoyed as a simple homemade drink made from berries or fruit with starch for thickness. This instant version keeps that familiar idea in a more convenient format: a single sachet that dissolves quickly and lets you adjust the result yourself.
- Use less water for a richer, spoonable texture
- Use more water for a lighter cup
When to Enjoy
This kind of drink suits moments when you want a warm berry beverage with a nostalgic character — for example:
- As an afternoon pause
- A gentle option during cooler weather
- A sweet alternative to coffee
It is primarily a carbohydrate-based product, so it is best seen as a pleasant food drink rather than a concentrated health supplement.
Important Notes
If you are sensitive to specific colorants or ingredients, check the label before use, as the formula contains carmine (E120). Because the drink includes sugar, it may not suit all eating plans. Enjoy it as part of a varied diet.

Customer Questions
Empty the 30 g sachet into a heatproof cup or bowl. Pour 150–200 ml of freshly boiled water over the powder while stirring briskly with a spoon or small whisk. The potato starch activates instantly, thickening the liquid into a smooth, slightly viscous kissel. For a richer, almost pudding-like consistency that you can eat with a spoon, use closer to 150 ml water. For a lighter, sip-friendly drink, increase to 200–250 ml. Stir until no dry powder remains; the starch will continue to swell for the first minute. If it becomes too thick as it cools, simply stir in a splash of hot water. Do not use cold or lukewarm water — the starch will not hydrate properly and the drink will stay watery with lumps.
The base is potato starch, which gives kissel its characteristic body. Sweetness comes from added sugar, so this product is not suitable for low-sugar or ketogenic diets. Citric acid provides the tart berry note, and ascorbic acid (vitamin C) is included as a nutrient. The red-pink color comes from carmine (E120), a colorant derived from cochineal insects; people who avoid animal-derived additives or have rare carmine sensitivity should note this. The powder contains no milk, egg, soy, nuts, or gluten-containing cereals in its listed composition, but always check the physical label for cross-contamination statements if you have severe allergies. Because it is a carbohydrate-based drink, it contributes calories primarily from starch and sugar — treat it as a food item, not a supplement.
Kissel occupies a middle ground: it is warmer and more enveloping than fruit tea or diluted juice because the starch creates a gentle mouth-coating texture, yet it lacks the fat, caffeine, or heaviness of cocoa or coffee drinks. It works well as an afternoon pause when you want something sweet and warm without a caffeine hit, or on cold days when plain water feels too thin and juice feels too sharp. Because it is made with boiling water, it is quick to prepare at home or in an office kitchen — no brewing time, no straining. The vitamin C content is a small nutritional bonus, but the primary role is a comforting carbohydrate-based beverage. It is not a meal replacement and not intended to diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition; enjoy it as part of a varied diet.
Store unopened sachets in a cupboard away from heat, steam, and direct sunlight — typical room temperature (below 25°C) and low humidity are fine. The 30 g sachet is designed for single use: once you tear it open, the fine starch powder rapidly absorbs ambient moisture, which causes clumping and uneven dissolution. If you must split a sachet, fold the top tightly, seal with a clip, and use the remainder within a day or two; however, the texture and thickening power may degrade. Do not refrigerate the dry powder, as condensation when removing it will accelerate clumping. Prepared kissel should be consumed warm; if left to cool completely it will thicken further into a gel, which is safe to eat but not the intended drinking consistency. Discard any prepared drink left at room temperature for more than two hours.
