How it works: black clay particles have a porous structure and a slight negative electrical charge. When mixed with water and applied to the skin, they attract and bind sebum, sweat residues and surface impurities, then rinse away together with them. This is a purely physical mechanism — the clay does not penetrate deep into the skin, it works on the surface of the stratum corneum. As the mask dries, microcirculation in the upper skin layers temporarily increases, which is why the face often looks fresher and more even-toned right after rinsing.

The DNC powder is finely milled and easy to mix into a smooth paste with water, hydrolate, herbal infusion or yogurt. Typical scenarios:

• Oily and combination skin — a 10–15 minute mask 1–2 times a week helps reduce shine in the T-zone and visually refine pores.
• Skin prone to blackheads and breakouts — black clay is a classic choice thanks to its absorbing capacity.
• Scalp and hair roots — as a pre-wash mask for those whose hair gets greasy quickly.
• Body wraps — mixed with warm water or coffee grounds for home spa sessions.

Unlike ready-made cream masks, pure clay contains no preservatives, fragrances or emulsifiers, so you fully control what ends up on your skin. The 130 g jar lasts a long time, since one application usually needs only 1–2 teaspoons of powder.

A few practical notes: do not let the mask dry out completely on the face — spritz it with water or remove it while still slightly damp to avoid dehydrating the skin. Dry and sensitive skin types are better off keeping exposure short (5–7 minutes) and applying a moisturiser afterwards. Avoid the eye area, and do a patch test on the inner forearm before the first use if you have reactive skin.
