Dental Sensitive Fluoride Formula Toothpaste 100ml from the Dental range (manufactured by Rubella Beauty, Rudozem, Bulgaria) is a cosmetic daily toothpaste for sensitive teeth, formulated with two key active agents: calcium chloride (CaCl₂) and sodium fluoride (NaF). Calcium chloride functions by depositing calcium ions into the opened or exposed dentinal tubules of sensitive teeth; when calcium deposits in these channels, the tubule opening is narrowed, which cosmetically reduces the sensitivity sensation that normally occurs when stimuli (cold, heat, acidic food) reach the dentine nerve. Sodium fluoride (the fluoride active agent, at a concentration safe for daily cosmetic dental use) contributes to the prevention of caries (tooth decay) by promoting remineralisation of the tooth enamel surface through fluorapatite formation, which strengthens the enamel mineral structure. Rubella Beauty Dental Sensitive Fluoride Toothpaste uses calcium chloride as its primary desensitising active. When dentine becomes exposed — often due to gum recession or enamel wear — microscopic channels called dentinal tubules remain open. These tubules run from the tooth surface toward the nerve, and fluid movement inside them triggered by cold, heat, or acidic foods causes the brief, sharp sensation known as dentine hypersensitivity. Calcium chloride works by helping to narrow or occlude these open tubules, reducing fluid movement and therefore the nerve stimulus. This is a cosmetic, cumulative effect: consistent twice-daily brushing builds and maintains the occlusion over time. It does not "numb" the nerve or repair structural damage. For noticeable reduction, use it as your regular toothpaste for at least two to four weeks. If sensitivity persists beyond that, or if it is spontaneous (occurs without a trigger), worsens, or is localised to a single tooth, consult a dentist — these signs may indicate decay, a cracked tooth, or other issues that a cosmetic toothpaste cannot address.
This product contains sodium fluoride at a concentration intended for adults and older children. Because of the fluoride level, it is not suitable for children under 6 years old. Swallowing fluoride toothpaste regularly during early childhood can contribute to dental fluorosis — faint white lines or streaks on developing permanent teeth. For children aged 6 and above who can reliably spit out after brushing, a pea-sized amount under adult supervision is appropriate. Supervision ensures the child uses the correct amount, brushes all surfaces, and does not swallow the paste. If your child is under 6 and experiences sensitivity, speak with a dental professional before introducing any fluoride toothpaste; they may recommend a lower-fluoride or fluoride-free alternative formulated for young children. Store the tube out of reach of small children. In case of accidental ingestion of more than a brushing amount, seek medical advice.
For the calcium chloride and sodium fluoride to work as intended, use this toothpaste twice daily — morning and evening — as your regular toothpaste. Apply a standard ribbon (about 1–2 cm) onto a soft-bristled brush. Brush gently for two minutes, covering all tooth surfaces, paying attention to the gum line where dentine exposure often occurs. After brushing, spit out the excess foam but avoid rinsing immediately with water or mouthwash; leaving a thin film of paste on the teeth allows the fluoride ions more contact time to support enamel remineralisation and gives the calcium chloride continued access to the dentinal tubules. A soft brush and non-aggressive technique are important: hard scrubbing can worsen gum recession and enamel wear, counteracting the product's benefits. Most users notice a gradual reduction in sensitivity after two to four weeks of consistent use. If you use an acidic mouthwash or consume acidic drinks (citrus, carbonated beverages, wine), wait at least 30 minutes before brushing to avoid brushing softened enamel.
