Befungin is a liquid extract based on chaga (Inonotus obliquus) — a parasitic fungus that grows on birch trunks in the northern forests of Europe and Russia. For centuries chaga has been valued in Northern and Eastern European folk traditions as a forest remedy: people brewed it as a dark, slightly bitter tea and used it as a tonic.
