Yogi Tea Throat Comfort (Tee kurgule) is a warming herbal infusion from the German brand Yogi Tea, created for moments when the throat feels dry, scratchy or tired after a long day of talking, cold weather or the first signs of a seasonal chill. It belongs to the family of Ayurvedic-inspired blends that Yogi Tea has been producing since 1969, combining traditional Indian herbal wisdom with European quality standards and organic farming.
The blend is built around liquorice root, which gives the tea its naturally sweet, slightly earthy taste and creates a soft, coating sensation in the mouth and throat. Liquorice is one of the most respected herbs in both Ayurveda and European herbalism for soothing irritated mucous membranes. It is complemented by fennel and aniseed, two aromatic seeds rich in essential oils that add a gentle warmth and a mild expectorant character, traditionally appreciated when breathing feels heavy.
Spices such as cinnamon, ginger, cardamom and cloves bring the typical Yogi Tea warmth — they stimulate circulation, create a pleasant feeling of heat from the inside, and make the infusion ideal for cold evenings. Sage and thyme, well-known throat-friendly herbs from the Mediterranean tradition, complete the formula with their slightly astringent, aromatic notes that leave the mouth feeling fresh.
This tea fits naturally into several scenarios: a quiet evening cup when the voice feels strained after meetings or lessons, a warming drink during damp autumn and winter weeks, or simply a flavourful caffeine-free alternative to black tea. For the fullest taste and aroma, pour freshly boiled water over the bag, cover the cup and let it steep for about 7 minutes — the longer infusion releases the deeper layers of the spices and roots.
A gentle note: because of the liquorice content, this blend is not recommended in large quantities or for very long uninterrupted periods, especially for people with high blood pressure, kidney conditions, or during pregnancy. If you take regular medication or have a chronic condition, it is wise to check with your doctor or pharmacist before making herbal teas a frequent part of your day.
