Herbal Traditions Liquid Soap with Tar 300 ml
Herbal Traditions Liquid Soap with Tar 300 ml is a cleansing soap for hands and body, chosen by people who like a more traditional approach to skin hygiene. Tar soap has long been used in Eastern European bath and body products because it gives a thorough, “clean skin” feel and suits skin that often seems oily, rough or easily bothered by external factors.
Key components
The key component here is birch tar oil, valued not because it acts like a medicine, but because it helps create a purifying, balancing effect on the skin surface.
- Betula Alba Oil (birch tar oil) — often appreciated when the skin feels greasy in some areas, less smooth than usual, or needs a deeper cleanse after physical work, sport or hot weather.
- Glycerin — included to help reduce the tight feeling that can happen after washing, so the skin feels less stripped.
When people choose it
This Herbal Traditions liquid soap comes in an easy-to-use liquid form, which many people find more practical than a classic tar bar soap. It lathers well, spreads quickly and rinses off easily, making it suitable for:
- the shower;
- hand washing after gardening or workshop tasks;
- a simple cleansing step for skin that prefers a more intensive wash from time to time.
The scent and character of tar soap are quite distinctive, so this product is usually chosen by those who specifically enjoy this classic type of cleanser rather than a floral or creamy wash.
Important notes
- If your skin is very dry, reactive or sensitive to fragranced or active cleansers, it is sensible to try it cautiously first.
- Avoid using it on irritated areas.
- Stop use if the skin feels uncomfortable.

Customer Questions
Birch tar oil, listed as Betula Alba Oil, is the key component that gives this liquid soap its traditional character. It's historically valued in Eastern European bath routines for providing a deep, thorough cleanse that leaves a distinct "clean skin" sensation. This feeling is often preferred by people whose skin can feel oily, rough, or easily bothered by factors like sweat, dirt, or humidity. The soap lathers and rinses well, making it practical for use after physical activities like gardening, sports, or workshop tasks. Its inclusion of glycerin helps mitigate the tight feeling that sometimes follows such an intensive wash. It's important to note that the soap's scent and cleansing effect are quite distinctive. It's typically chosen by those who specifically enjoy this classic type of cleanser rather than floral or creamy washes. If your skin is very dry, reactive, or sensitive, it's sensible to try it cautiously on a small area first and avoid using it on already irritated skin.
As a cleansing soap for hands and body, it's designed for topical use in the shower or at the sink. Given its thorough cleansing nature, many people use it as an occasional or targeted wash rather than a twice-daily product for the whole body. You might find it suitable for days when your skin feels it needs a more intensive cleanse, such as after sweating heavily, working outdoors, or when skin seems oilier than usual. For daily full-body cleansing, consider alternating it with a gentler, more hydrating wash to maintain skin comfort. When washing hands, it's effective for removing stubborn dirt or residues. After use, follow with a moisturizer if your skin tends to feel dry, as this can help compensate for any moisture loss from cleansing. Store the bottle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve its consistency. Remember, this product is for external use only and is not a substitute for medical skin care. If you have chronic skin conditions, are pregnant, breastfeeding, or on medication, consulting a specialist before introducing any new cosmetic product is a prudent step.
