Succinic acid (amber acid; IUPAC: butanedioic acid) is a naturally occurring organic acid that plays a central role in cellular energy metabolism as an intermediate in the Krebs cycle (citric acid cycle). It is present naturally in amber, in many plants and fungi, and is produced endogenously in every aerobic cell. As a dietary supplement, succinic acid is taken as an additional dietary source of this key metabolic intermediate.
This product is produced as white-coated tablets containing succinic acid as the sole active ingredient. Adults take 1 tablet 2–3 times daily with meals; a standard supplementation course is one month.
