Su-Jok (literally "hand–foot" in Korean, from su = hand, jok = foot) is a manual wellness reflexology and acupressure massage methodology developed by Korean professor Park Jae-woo in the 1980s, based on the systematic correspondence map between the hands/feet and various body areas. Su-Jok self-massage using the ball and ring springs is widely practised in Russia, Korea and across Asia as a wellness self-care routine. The spiked ball is rolled between the palms of the hands or over the soles of the feet, providing an intensive mechanical stimulating massage effect on the densely innervated surfaces of the palms and soles. The coil ring springs are rolled over individual fingers and toes, providing a targeted massage effect. Recommended use: 10–15 minutes per session, 2 times per day.
