Comprehensive Oral Care
This toothpaste is designed for comprehensive oral care: cleaning, reducing sensitivity, preventing cavities, and maintaining gum health.
Abrasive Components
- Hydrated Silica
- Dicalcium Phosphate Dihydrate
- Calcium Pyrophosphate
These abrasive components effectively remove plaque and stains without damaging enamel with controlled abrasiveness – this is confirmed by studies on safe abrasives in dentistry (Journal of Dentistry, 2016).
Sensitivity Reduction & Enamel Support
- Potassium Nitrate – aimed at reducing tooth sensitivity by reducing the excitability of nerve endings in dentin, as confirmed by clinical reviews (American Journal of Dentistry, 2013).
- Fluoride (Sodium Monofluorophosphate) – promotes enamel remineralization and reduces the risk of cavities; its effectiveness has been well documented, including in Cochrane systematic reviews.
Surfactants & Enzyme Action
- Sodium coco-sulfate and sodium lauroyl sarcosinate – surfactants that ensure even distribution of the paste and removal of stains.
- Papain – an enzyme that helps gently break down protein plaque, improving cleansing (in vitro data and clinical observations on enzyme toothpastes).

Customer Questions
SPLAT White Plus contains several cleaning abrasives: hydrated silica, dicalcium phosphate dihydrate and calcium pyrophosphate. These ingredients help remove plaque and surface stains that can make teeth look dull, especially from everyday causes such as coffee, tea or coloured foods. The product information describes the abrasiveness as controlled, meaning the cleaning particles are intended to polish and clean without damaging enamel when used normally.
This toothpaste contains potassium nitrate, which is included to help reduce the feeling of tooth sensitivity by lowering the excitability of nerve endings in exposed dentin. If you notice discomfort from cold drinks, sweet foods or brushing, a toothpaste with potassium nitrate may be a reasonable choice as part of your regular routine.
Brush with SPLAT White Plus as part of your normal daily oral hygiene routine, typically morning and evening. Apply a small amount to the toothbrush and brush for about two minutes, covering the outer, inner and chewing surfaces of the teeth. Gentle, thorough brushing is preferable to hard scrubbing, especially because this toothpaste already contains abrasive cleaning components designed to help remove plaque and stains.
