Evalar Shiitake is a dietary supplement developed by the Russian pharmaceutical company Evalar, formulated with a combination of shiitake mushroom (Lentinula edodes) powder and shiitake extract, enhanced with vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol). Shiitake is one of the most thoroughly researched edible and medicinal mushrooms in East Asian traditional medicine and in modern phytotherapy research. It is a rich natural source of beta-glucans, lentinan (a polysaccharide), ergosterol (a precursor to vitamin D), B vitamins and essential amino acids.
Vitamin D3 in the formula contributes to the normal function of the immune system — an authorised health claim under EU Regulation 432/2012.
