SANGASTE Õietolm 100 g is natural bee-collected flower pollen harvested in Estonia, in the Sangaste region known for its long tradition of beekeeping and clean meadow landscapes. Pollen is gathered by honeybees from a wide variety of flowering plants and brought back to the hive as small golden granules, where it serves as the main protein source for the colony. For people, it has been used for generations as a concentrated natural food rich in plant-based nutrients.
The interesting thing about flower pollen is how dense its composition is for such a small granule. It naturally contains plant proteins and free amino acids, a broad range of B-group vitamins, vitamin C, carotenoids, flavonoids such as rutin and quercetin, trace minerals (iron, zinc, magnesium, potassium, selenium) and natural enzymes. Because bees collect it from many different plants, the nutrient profile is more varied than that of a single herb or seed — each granule is essentially a tiny multi-component food.
Many people choose pollen as a wholesome addition to their menu during demanding periods — intensive study, physical training, recovery after illness, or simply when meals feel monotonous and lacking in micronutrients. A typical way to use it is one teaspoon in the morning, dissolved in a little warm (not hot) water, stirred into yogurt or kefir, sprinkled over porridge, smoothies or fruit salad. Letting the granules soak for a few minutes softens them and makes the nutrients easier to absorb.
Why Sangaste pollen. The product comes from Estonian apiaries, dried gently to preserve enzymes and the natural colour of the granules, with no added sugar, flavourings or preservatives. The mix of yellow, orange and brownish granules in the jar is normal and reflects the diversity of flowers visited by the bees.
A gentle note: flower pollen is a strong natural product. People with allergies to bee products, pollen or honey should avoid it or first try a very small amount. It is not recommended for children under one year. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or taking medication, consult your doctor before adding pollen to your menu. Store the jar tightly closed in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
