Rotokan 25ml is a traditional herbal liquid preparation for oral hygiene use (mouth rinse/gargle), made from a combination of three classic European medicinal herbs: chamomile flowers (Matricaria chamomilla), yarrow herb (Achillea millefolium) and calendula flowers (Calendula officinalis), extracted in ethyl alcohol. Rotokan is a well-established traditional herbal oral hygiene product, originating from Russian pharmaceutical tradition, and has been produced for many decades. The three botanical actives are each noted in European traditional herbal medicine for their individual cosmetic and oral care-related properties: chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla) is one of the most widely used traditional medicinal plants in European herbalism, valued for its soothing and skin/mucosa-conditioning properties; yarrow (Achillea millefolium) contributes astringent and tissue-toning properties from its tannin and flavonoid content; and calendula (Calendula officinalis) provides soothing and conditioning properties from its flavonoids, triterpenoids and carotenoids. The combination in an alcohol-based extract provides a concentrated oral hygiene solution for use diluted as a mouth rinse and gargle. ⚠ Contains ethyl alcohol. Asteraceae family plants (chamomile, yarrow, calendula) — persons with Asteraceae allergy should not use this product. Not a medicinal product in this listing context.

What Rotokan is
Planeta Zdorovia Rotokan 25 ml is a traditional herbal oral rinse concentrate used for mouth hygiene. People usually choose this type of product when they want a plant-based solution for rinsing the mouth or gargling after irritation from food, dryness, or seasonal sensitivity. It is not meant to be swallowed: the idea is brief contact with the oral mucosa after dilution in water.
Herbal components
Its formula combines three well-known herbs from European herbal practice, forming a balanced botanical blend for oral hygiene, especially when the mouth feels sensitive and you prefer something more traditional than strongly flavored rinses:
- Chamomile — valued for its soothing effect on delicate mucous membranes.
- Calendula — often used in oral and skin preparations because it helps condition the surface and makes the rinse feel gentler.
- Yarrow — adds a mild astringent action: in simple terms, tannins from the plant can create a light tightening effect on the tissues.
The alcohol-based extract format
What makes Rotokan different is its alcohol-based herbal extract format. Ethyl alcohol is used here as an extraction medium, helping draw active plant compounds out of chamomile, yarrow, and calendula, then preserving them in concentrated liquid form. Because of that, only a small amount is used and it should be diluted before rinsing. This format has a long history in Eastern European pharmacy, where herbal tinctures and liquid extracts have been used for decades as practical, shelf-stable preparations.
When people choose it
Rotokan can suit adults who keep a herbal mouth-hygiene option at home, at work, or in a travel kit and want a short rinse after meals or when the mouth feels less fresh. If you are sensitive to strong mint mouthwashes, a diluted botanical rinse may feel more suitable.
Important notes
- Avoid use if you are allergic to plants from the Asteraceae family such as chamomile, yarrow, or calendula.
- Because this is an alcohol-containing concentrate, it should be diluted as directed and not swallowed.
- Children should use it only on professional advice.
