What It Is
ELEO Linatarretis astelpajuga 150 g is a quick-prep flaxseed kissel with sea buckthorn — a warm drink or light snack chosen by people who want something simple, filling and gentle on the stomach. Unlike starch-based kissel, this Eleo dry mix relies on flaxseed as its base, so the texture comes from the seed's own soluble fibre rather than added thickeners.
Key Components
- Flaxseed — when it meets hot water, it releases mucilage, a soft gel-like fibre that gives the drink its smooth, silky consistency and makes it feel substantial.
- Soluble fibre — slows the passage of food, which can help the drink feel more satisfying than a sweet beverage.
- Sea buckthorn — adds a bright, tangy note and is traditionally valued in Northern and Baltic food culture as a berry rich in naturally occurring plant compounds.
When People Choose It
Because Eleo flaxseed drink is starch-free, the texture is different from classic dessert kissel: less pudding-like, more silky and seed-based. It suits a range of everyday situations:
- A warm option for breakfast
- A small between-meal snack
- A travel-friendly pantry product when you want something quick that does not feel heavy
The taste is easy to adapt — add fruit or a little honey if you prefer a softer berry note. This kind of product suits people who enjoy functional foods made from familiar ingredients rather than highly processed mixes.
A Few Things to Keep in Mind
- If you are increasing fibre in your menu, start with a modest portion and drink enough water through the day.
- If you are sensitive to flaxseed or sea buckthorn, use caution and consider your individual tolerance.

Customer Questions
Flaxseed naturally contains a type of soluble fibre called mucilage. When whole or ground flaxseed meets hot water, this mucilage is released, absorbing the liquid and forming a soft, gel-like consistency that gives the drink its smooth, silky texture. This process is entirely natural, using the seed's own properties, which is why this product lists flaxseed as its base rather than potato or corn starch. The resulting texture is different from a classic dessert kissel—less pudding-like and more delicate, with a slightly grainy mouthfeel from the seed fibre itself. For the best texture, use boiling water, stir thoroughly to fully hydrate the mix, and let it sit for a minute to allow the gel to set. You can adjust the thickness by adding slightly more or less water to suit your preference.
Unlike juice, tea, or sweetened instant drinks, which are primarily liquid and often high in sugars, this flaxseed kissel provides a different sensory and functional experience. The soluble fibre from the flaxseed creates a substantial, slightly viscous texture that makes the drink feel more like a light snack than a beverage, which can help it feel more satisfying. This can be useful if you're looking for something to briefly curb hunger between meals without reaching for solid food. The sea buckthorn adds a natural tangy note without the need for added sweeteners, though you can add a little honey or fruit if desired. People often choose such seed-based drinks for their simple, recognisable ingredient list (just flaxseed and sea buckthorn) and because they offer a warm, gentle option that feels soothing on the stomach. It's not a substitute for a balanced diet but can be a convenient part of a daily routine. If you are managing a chronic condition, are pregnant, breastfeeding, or on medication, consult a specialist before making dietary changes.
Beyond a quick breakfast or between-meal snack, this kind of product suits several practical everyday situations. For a busy morning when you want something warm and light that requires minimal preparation—just add hot water and stir—it can be a faster alternative to cooking porridge. It's travel-friendly; the dry mix is shelf-stable, takes little space, and you only need access to hot water, making it useful in hotels, at work, or on camping trips. After light physical activity or when you feel slightly hungry but don't want a full meal, its gentle, fibre-rich consistency can be more appealing than a cold snack. Some people incorporate it into mindful eating routines as a way to pause and have a warm, simple moment. Because the flavour is mild and tangy from sea buckthorn, it pairs easily with a piece of fruit or a handful of nuts if you want a bit more substance. Remember to drink adequate water throughout the day when increasing fibre intake.
