Black volcanic clay from Kamchatka is derived from volcanic rock deposits of the Kamchatka volcanic arc — one of the most volcanically active regions on Earth. The black colouration comes from the high content of volcanic minerals and organic matter absorbed during the geological formation process. In cosmetics, volcanic clay is valued for its intensive deep-cleansing properties: its highly adsorptive mineral structure effectively draws out excess sebum, impurities and environmental residues from the pores, contributing to a visibly cleaner, smoother and tighter-looking skin surface. The organic almond oil in the base provides emollient skin conditioning and prevents the formula from being over-drying. Caprylic/capric triglycerides and glycerin maintain skin softness.
