Techniques for using essential oils

Oil burner. Ventilate the room, close the windows. Pour warm water into the aroma lamp, drop some essential oil into it (2 drops per 5 m2 of room area). Light a candle under an aroma lamp. The water should not boil. Lamp operating time: from 20 minutes to 2 hours. Do not leave a burning lamp unattended. Add water as needed.

Aroma pendant: Pour 3-5 drops of oil or a mixture of oils into an aroma pendant and wear it around your neck throughout the day.

Aromatic baths. Fill the bathtub with water at a comfortable temperature. Stir the essential oil into the base (sea salt, milk, kefir) in the following proportions:

• For a full bath – 8 drops for general strengthening, 10-13 for healing

• For a sitz bath – 2 drops for restorative, 4 for health-improving

• For hands and feet – 4 drops of oil per container.

Bath time is 10-20 minutes.

Compresses. Dissolve up to 5 drops of essential oil or a mixture of oils in the base (as for baths) in 1 glass of water. Moisten a cotton cloth with this solution and apply it to the desired location for 2 hours. Water for compresses for rheumatic, muscle or joint pain should be hot (40-45 C). Cover with film and hold until compared with body temperature. After the compress has cooled, remove the film, wipe with a dry towel and wrap in a dry and warm cloth to retain heat.

Cold compresses are made with chilled water or ice. Help with headaches (place on the forehead or back of the head), sprains, swelling and bruises.

Massage and rubbing. Stir essential oil (3-5 drops per 10 ml) into vegetable cosmetic oil or cream, apply to the skin, then massage in accordance with the condition of the body.

Enrichment of shampoos, shower gels, creams: add 2-3 drops of oil or mixture of oils per 10-15 grams of enriched product.

As a Perfume, 1 drop on the inside of the wrist or on the inside of the seams of clothing, also on the hair. Spraying 5-20 drops of essential oils (aroma compositions), dissolved in 1 tablespoon of an alcohol-containing product, is added to a spray bottle filled with 1 liter of plain water. Then the vessel is shaken and the mixture is sprayed into the room.

PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES: Take into account individual intolerances!

Before first use, a test* is recommended to rule out allergic reactions.

Customer Questions
How should I use this clove essential oil safely on my skin?
This essential oil should never be applied neat (undiluted) directly to the skin, as its intensity can cause a warming or hot sensation and potential irritation. For any cosmetic or body application, it must first be diluted in a neutral carrier oil. A common starting dilution is 1-2 drops of clove oil per teaspoon (roughly 5 ml) of a carrier oil like jojoba, sweet almond, or fractionated coconut oil, which equates to a concentration of approximately 1-2% for general skin use. For facial applications, an even lower concentration (0.5-1%) is advisable, especially if you have sensitive or blemish-prone skin. Always perform a patch test on a small area of skin, like the inner forearm, and wait 24 hours to check for any reaction before using a blend more widely. Do not apply diluted blends to mucous membranes, broken skin, or near the eyes. For blending into existing cosmetic products like creams or lotions, mix a single drop thoroughly into a portion of the product first. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have a known skin condition, or are on medication, professional advice before use is sensible.
How is this clove oil typically used in a home environment?
Beyond topical blends, this essential oil is commonly used for aromatic and practical household purposes due to its potent, invigorating aroma. The most frequent method is diffusion: adding 3-5 drops to the water reservoir of an aroma lamp, ultrasonic diffuser, or electric nebulizer to help create a richer, more stimulating atmosphere, which many find helpful when the air feels heavy or during the colder months. Its strong scent is also disliked by many common pests, making it a traditional choice for natural pest management; a few drops can be added to cotton balls placed in cabinets, or it can be blended with water in a spray bottle (shake well before each use) to lightly mist areas like windowsills or doorways. Some people add a drop to a bowl of hot water for a simple steam inhalation to clear nasal passages, though care must be taken to avoid direct contact with skin and mucous membranes. When not in use, store the bottle in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and heat to preserve its aromatic compounds.
What is eugenol and why is it important in this oil?
Eugenol is a phenylpropanoid, a type of highly active plant compound that is the best-known and most abundant component in clove bud essential oil, typically constituting 70-90% of its composition. It is a clear to pale yellow liquid that is chemically classified as an allyl chain-substituted guaiacol, and it is responsible for the oil's intense, warm, and spicy olfactory character. This compound is not unique to clove; it's also found in significant amounts in plants like cinnamon leaf, tulsi (holy basil), and bay leaf, but clove buds are one of its richest botanical sources. Eugenol's chemical structure gives it properties that account for its long history in various traditions: its potent aroma acts as a strong olfactory stimulant in diffusion, and its chemical reactivity underpins its historical use in oral care and perfumery. In a commercial context, isolated eugenol is also used in dentistry and as a flavoring agent. In this essential oil, the presence of eugenol, along with minor components like beta-caryophyllene, defines the oil's profile and necessitates careful dilution due to its strength.

AromaSaules Clove Essential Oil 10 ml

AromaSaules Clove Essential Oil 10 ml is a concentrated aromatic oil used mainly for air diffusion, blended body applications and home aromatherapy. Clove oil is chosen for its warm, spicy scent and for the naturally active compounds found in clove buds. It is often used when the air feels heavy in the room, during colder months, or when you want a more invigorating atmosphere. Many people also reach for this type of essential oil in blends for oily, blemish-prone skin or for warming massage mixtures that are always diluted before use.

Key component

The best-known component of clove essential oil is eugenol. This substance gives clove its characteristic aroma and much of its traditional use. In plain language, eugenol is a highly active plant compound with strong aromatic intensity, which is why only a small amount of oil is usually needed. In diffusion, the scent feels sharp, spicy and stimulating. In diluted cosmetic use, clove oil is typically added in very low concentrations because it is powerful and can feel hot on the skin. That same intensity is also why clove has long been valued in mouth-focused herbal traditions and in seasonal aromatherapy blends.

When people choose it and how to use it

Clove has a long history of use in different cultures, especially in spice, perfumery and traditional plant practices. In a modern setting, AromaSaules essential oil can fit into several scenarios:

  • Room scent: adding a few drops to an aroma lamp for a richer atmosphere.
  • Warming massage blend: combining it with a carrier oil before use.
  • Cosmetic mixes: using it in carefully diluted preparations for targeted application.
  • Colder season and pest-prone spaces: some people like clove oil where insects are a nuisance, since its pungent aroma is not liked by many pests.

Important notes

Because this is a potent essential oil, it is best approached with caution.

  • Clove essential oil should not be applied neat to skin.
  • Avoid overuse on sensitive skin, near mucous membranes or in homemade oral use unless advised by a qualified specialist.
  • If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, choosing essential oils for children, or are prone to skin reactivity, professional advice before use is a sensible step.
