MUST PÄÄSIKU SIBERI ŽENŠENNIGA TEE is a loose herbal tea blend by Taeznaya Kladovaya. It combines two Siberian plants: chaga, a fungus that grows on birch trunks across northern boreal forests, and Siberian ginseng, also known as eleuthero, which is made from the root of a thorny Far Eastern shrub.
Chaga is responsible for the tea's dark colour. It contains substances such as melanin pigments, polysaccharides including beta-glucans, and polyphenolic compounds that it takes up from the birch tree. Traditionally, chaga infusion was an everyday drink among foresters and hunters. Eleuthero brings a tonic character and is regarded in herbal tradition as an adaptogen; its active compounds are called eleutherosides and differ from those in true Panax ginseng.
The product comes as a 90 g loose blend, enough for many cups, and is meant to be brewed in a teapot or thermos. The taste is dense, earthy, slightly bitter, and has a warm, woody undertone. It is often chosen in the Baltics as a seasonal, caffeine-free alternative to black tea during the dark autumn and winter months.
