Formic alcohol is a traditional ingredient in Russian hand-care formulas; it creates a mild, transient stimulating sensation that many users associate with improved skin tone and comfort after cold, wind, or repetitive washing. The result is a cream that feels richer than a light lotion but absorbs quickly without leaving a heavy greasy film — practical for people who need to handle tools, paperwork, or keyboards shortly after applying.
The formula contains formic alcohol, which gives the cream its characteristic stimulating effect. On intact but dry, rough skin this is usually well tolerated and feels warming. On open cracks, fissures, or freshly abraded areas it can sting noticeably. If your hands are at that stage, apply a plain barrier ointment (petrolatum, dimethicone-based protectant) on the worst spots first, let them close for a day or two, then introduce Formicavit Derm on the surrounding skin.
