Lozenges that dissolve in the mouth are fundamentally different from chewable tablets or capsules: they are neither chewed nor swallowed whole. Adults are recommended to take 1 tablet 5 times a day with meals for a 14-day course; the tablet is held in the mouth until it has completely dissolved. It is with this method of use that the vitamin C, sage, eucalyptus essential oil, mint and menthol are released gradually and stay in contact with the mucous membranes of the mouth and throat for longer.
