Parafarm Echinacea P is a food supplement tablet providing dried aerial herb of purple coneflower (Echinacea purpurea) as the principal botanical ingredient, combined with ascorbic acid (vitamin C). Echinacea purpurea is a member of the Asteraceae (daisy) family, native to eastern North America and widely cultivated in Europe; the aerial herb contains polysaccharides (echinacin), caffeic acid derivatives (including echinacoside and cichoric acid), alkamides and flavonoids. The Parafarm formula uses whole echinacea plant material processed by cryogenic technology (low-temperature processing), which is intended to preserve the full spectrum of native phytochemicals present in fresh echinacea herb. Each coated tablet provides 205 mg of echinacea herb material together with vitamin C. Vitamin C contributes to the normal function of the immune system (EU authorised health claim).
