Crevil Essential Devil's Claw Gel-Balsam is a cosmetic massage gel for muscles and joints from the German Crevil Cosmetics & Pharmaceuticals range, formulated with a super-concentrated extract of Devil's Claw (Harpagophytum procumbens DC.) as the primary botanical active. Devil's Claw is a tuberous plant from the Pedaliaceae family native to the Kalahari Desert and Namib Desert regions of southern Africa (South Africa, Namibia, Botswana), where the dried tuber has been used in traditional southern African medicine for many centuries. The principal active constituent is harpagoside (iridoid glycoside), a bitter secoiridoid glycoside that is the pharmacopoeial marker compound for standardised Harpagophytum root preparations and is measured as the reference for extract quality. The super-concentrated formula provides a rich mass of harpagoside along with the supporting iridoids harpagide and procumbide. The gel is designed for use as a topical massage preparation for the care and conditioning of the skin overlying muscles and joints; the massaging application supports local circulation and provides a warming, conditioning sensory experience. The light gel texture spreads easily and absorbs into the skin without a heavy or greasy residue. 250 ml.
