HO-FI is a natural aqueous solution of sodium chlorophyllin produced by Biolat (Latvia) from sustainably harvested spruce (Picea abies) and pine (Pinus sylvestris) needles from clean Latvian forests. Chlorophyll is the green pigment responsible for photosynthesis in plants; sodium chlorophyllin is its water-soluble derivative, which makes it suitable for use as a liquid dietary supplement. The rich, deep-green colour of HO-FI reflects its high chlorophyllin content.
Consuming 50–100 ml of this liquid per day provides a quantity of chlorophyllin equivalent to eating 50–100 g of fresh leafy greens — a convenient way to supplement the diet with this plant pigment. The liquid has a mild, fresh herbal taste.
