Most refreshing lozenges are based on menthol and sugar — and that is where it ends. In RADOGRAD Karamell PIPARMÜNT ja EUKALÜPT, menthol, peppermint and eucalyptus also form the base, but plant extracts have been added to them, including lemon balm, thyme, sage, chamomile, linden, liquorice, anise and yarrow. Each of these has long been used in herbal blends and lozenges with a gentle herbal profile, so the flavour is more complex and ‘warmer’ than that of purely menthol sweets.
These hard lozenges are designed to dissolve slowly in the mouth: this is how the menthol, mint and eucalyptus are released gradually and create a feeling of freshness. Chewing them or swallowing them whole is not recommended — it shortens the contact time with the lining of the mouth and reduces the effect.
The recommended dose of RADOGRAD Karamell PIPARMÜNT ja EUKALÜPT is given on the label for adults only — 1 lozenge 3 times a day immediately after meals; there is no dosage for children, and the pack should be kept out of the reach of children. As a rule, food supplements with menthol and essential-oil components (eucalyptus, mint) are not recommended for young children: menthol in high concentrations can cause adverse reactions in small children.
